This is a great package for our southern friends or those who like to travel to warm water! We used top quality items, yet kept the price and the weight of the system down for traveling. We did not include anything that we wouldn't be using ourselves.
We started with the durable but lightweight Zeagle Stiletto BC. With a tough outer bladder and 35lb of lift this is a fantastic rugged BC.
We also chose the new Zeagle OctoZ combination BC Inflator/Octopus. It has been redesigned so that a standard garden hose can be connected to the BC for easy effective rinsing. It reduces a hose on the regulator an replaces the inflator hose on the BC.
For a primary regulator, we chose the economical Zeagle Envoy resort. It's small size packs nicely in any carry-on bag. The 1st stage is a Flow-by Piston and the second stage is balanced. Like all Zeagle regulators, it comes factory ready for Nitrox use.
We believe everyone should be using a dive computer. Why waste a vacation having to spend your valuable time calculating your next dive with tables? We also are strong supporters of using Nitrox on our vacations since we easily exceed 20+ dives in a week.
For our computer/gauge choice, We went with the Aeris XR2, 3 gauge console. We chose this one as we always dive Nitrox and this 3 gauge console gives you the most "bang for the buck". The XR2 is a great Nitrox computer. It has 2 buttons for ease of use and has a proven track record of being a solid, reliable computer. The rest of the console includes a standard Aeris Pressure Gauge and an Aeris Compass. We really like the design of this compass as it is easy to read in the console. An optional Aeris download cable is also available for the XR2 so you can log your dives into your PC.
